Did you hear about Virginia’s laws getting worse? Its crazy.

Any amount (first offense) is amisdemeanor, 30 days (suspended) and a $500 dollar fine.
Any amount (subsequent offense) is a misdemeanor, 1 year and a $2,500

Wow! No, I hadn’t heard about that. It sounds like a good story for my NORML Examiner column I recently just started. I will send you a link when it’s up.
    Thanks for the info.

geeeesh, Angela, your news segment reports are getting better! Sharpest show to date. re: California. The regulators/politicians doing the math are WAY off. As usual, they’re lazy dogs. Truth is, if CA were to completely pull all stops and fully legalize, the entire “budget crisis” would disappear in a year or two and never return. CA officials are so out of it……. they’re still back in the 30s/40s Harrison/Anslinger era. they should all be fired. great video! :-)

to clarify how I end up with way higher numbers doing the math than they do, they are completely overlooking core explosion in Mj-related commerce for CA. I estimate *minimum* of $20b to $35b (1st year!) in new commerce, new companies forming, new jobs, new Mj-related products when Mj is fully legalized. Ppl from all over the world will flock to CA (tourism!) to smoke our good weed. the gov morons *totally overlook* this reality, and are hung up about the taxes issue only. what idiots!

Property value would go up because people would be coming to Cali not leaving! That would rule!

The MMI is headed for the November 2009 ballot in Maine. The initiative proposes creating nonprofit dispensaries to help patients get a safe supply of their medicine. It would also establish a statewide ID card system to protect patients from arrest. This change would bring Maine’s law in line with the current laws in Rhode Island, Vermont, and most of the other medical marijuana statewide ID card.
